Sitting down and writing these reviews is always fun, as we get to go through past pictures and relive the highlights of the past year. It is always humbling remembering the incredible adventures, friendships made and lessons learned.
2017 was a roller coaster ride and 2018 would not be outdone, serving up some amazing experiences and memories. For us surely the most memorable and significant was the birth of our son, Roan on the 24th May. Our little family was complete and Kingsview’s future PH had arrived in the World. Keep an eye on this little boy, he has quite the adventure ahead of him!
Our first guests of the year was Calle, returning for his second hunt with us, and his good friend Rex from Sweden. The African sun did it’s best to ruin the hunting with some very hot days but we stuck to it and Rex left with a big Warthog and an outstanding Red Lechwe. When the hunting was done, Rex and Calle spent time surfing the best right hand break waves in the World at the famous Jeffreys Bay
It is the greatest honor any Outfitter can receive, a returning guest. With open arms and much excitement we welcomed back Kent and Jody for their second visit us. The first trip was a blast and second was even better with Kent taking home more outstanding trophies. Kent and Jody, you are both incredible people….looking forward to 2019 for your 3rd visit!! We will get that Baboon.
Nothing like a bit of brotherly rivalry. Stephen and Michael visited us from Salt Lake, Utah and we hit the ground running. This was such a cool hunt and one that made for many laughs and good times. Stephen and Michael didn’t have much time but that wouldn’t stop them and they gave it everything to make the hunting time count. Michael hunted his dream Nyala and Stephen tackled a big old Zebra stallion. We hope to see you guys soon, so we can go after those Kudu!
Mohammed and his good friend added a little hunting to their vacation in South Africa. Travelling all the way from Saudi Arabia, they wanted to experience all that South Africa had to offer. It was our pleasure to host these two great gentlemen and take them on a hunting experience like no other. After spending time with us they made their down the Garden Route ending in beautiful Cape Town.
I had been looking forward to this hunt for a very long time. David and I had talked at lengths via email and when his wife couldn’t make the trip a good friend of his, Gary, stepped in at the last minute to come along on the safari. Both David and Gary were incredible guests to have, their appreciation for every aspect of Africa’s wildlife, the ethics they displayed while hunting and friendliness round the fire made this an absolute pleasure of a hunt to put on. Although David will be forgiven for falling asleep on the side of a valley while his PH kept an eye out for Kudu. Gary and David have surely found themselves an open home in Africa, anytime!
Nico and Rebecca from Germany entrusted us with their very first hunting trip outside of Europe and we ensured it would be one to remember. Nico and Rebecca have got to be two of the nicest people we have ever hosted here at Kingsview Safaris, that we only hope they could of stayed longer or even better planned a return trip. Nico will certainly enjoy the memories made by hunting his big warthog and old Red Lechwe bull and maybe even one or two more in the elusive Nyala that play an incredible game of Hide and Seek or the suicidal black cow that insisted on standing in front of the rifle.
Although our season has not officially ended, with one more hunt for the year still to take place, we thought it fitting to release the 2018 Review now given this time of the year and with that we are truly thankful and appreciative for the past year, our faithful guests, new guests, loyal staff, supportive lodge and land owners, friends and family that encourage us everyday and to the incredible people that have put their trust in us to deliver an exceptional hunting safari in 2019…..we will not disappoint.
From our family to yours, we wish you nothing but the best, forever happiness and may the shots you take always find your target!
Jono, Justine, Peyton and Roan.
